Freebmd. This is a free search site where you can search Births, Deaths,and marriages from 1837 onwards for Free and then send for a Certificate for a Fee


Freecen UK. This site is transcribing the census and has a free search


The Society of Genialogists. You can search their extensive records at their Library in Goswell Rd,London EC1 or go to their online site and search  for a fee


Freereg. A free search of Parish records. Still being transcribed but has quite a lot on it. You may be lucky if they have already transcribed the parish you are interested in


The National Archives at Kew. Search 1000yrs of records online or you can go there. Kew Richmond Surrey TW9 4DU

We use Family Tree Maker to build our family tree on our computer. I personally find it far better than others I have tried but it is a personal choice. This gives you access to Ancestry.co.uk and you can search directly from the software. You can also store photos and attach them to individuals, produce reports and even put it all into a printable book
